A long time ago, four Tribes lived on Earth. Each of them carried a unique gift: one controlled solids, another liquids, and another mastered gases. Then there was the Nation of Light, who had the power to control electromagnetic waves. Even though they were few innumber, they acted like gods, since their gift made them stronger than all the others. For centuries they ruled the world, and the other nations lived under their oppression, until they finally united and rose up against the tyranny of the Light. A bitter war broke out, shrouding the Earth in suffering and hatred for centuries.

In the end, the Tribe of Light was almost completely wiped out. In the final great battle, the last survivor of the Light Tribe sacrificed himself to preserve the secrets of the Light. His name was NAGI. He gathered all his energy and tore the Tree of Eternity (a mighty tree from the sacred homeland), together with its surroundings, out of the earth, letting the new floating island rise into the clouds. In doing so, he consumed so much power that he had to reduce his existence to the absolute minimum. All that remained of him was an orb of pure energy. Since then, he has traveled with the island high above the surface of the Earth.

On the island that NAGI carried with him, seven different biomes exist. In the center lies a jungle, at the heart of which stands the Tree of Eternity. This tree, with its massive roots, holds the entire island together. Inside it rests what remains of NAGI. From there, he controls the entire island.
To keep the island from falling and the system alive, NAGI needs an immense amount of energy. To make sure it never runs out, he controls all the plants and creatures on his island. During the day, the plants store a portion of the sunlight and release it at night in the form of a glow. The creatures go to the glowing plants, absorb the light energy, and carry it to one of the mighty roots of the Tree of Eternity. Through the tree, the energy reaches NAGI. This way, he has enough power every day to keep the island floating. But NAGI also collects excess light energy, hoping that one day he can regain his former form, revive his tribe, and take his revenge.

I've decided to make my own TCG out of Nagi. It's mostly inspired by the game Duell Master, I used to play a lot with my brother in my childhood, but it was important to me to still create something unique.
A good first step making the game was to have a logo and a name. The name is called Naği, which means spirit in Lakota. The logo is inspired from the energy orbit of the Light Tribe.

I started the project, writing abilities on printed blanco versions of the cards. Trying to keep the balancing fair. After a lot of playtesting and adjusting, I made a version in colors. Finally, I polished everything, and after a last balancing, I printed the final version of the game.
There are spell-, creature-, plant-, and adventure cards in Nagi, and to separate the plants from the rest, I changed the backprint color from orange to green. Here you can see the evolution of the card UI design from the first ideas to the final version.

And finally, here are all the different card designs :)
